Please accept this email as an invitation to attend and participate in this function.
As in prior years, children are invited to present a short Surah; Nasheed; or a story about the prophets’ (PBUH) life.
This can be done in one of two ways:
Please forward names of your children and what they will be presenting. Note that because of successful VMC funding, each child will be presented with a gift voucher if they register before 1 December 2020. Parents or Guardians will need to sign (can be typed) the attached Video Consent and Release Form to approve of their child’s performance.
If sending a video this is to be sent to gamci.2013@gmail.com and limited to 2 minutes.
Also please note that coaching is available to assist children with their presentations. Please email gamci.2013@gmail.com for details.

Please find below the GAMCI Ramadan Calendar in conjunction with the MAA. Please note that times are Melbourne.

Due to the Coronavirus Stage three restrictions in Victoria, there will be no Iftaars held this Ramadan in Gippsland.

GAMCI will make an announcement as to the beginning of Ramadan, which will coincide with the Islamic Council of Victoria (ICV); the Australian National Imams Council (ANIC) and the Board of Imams Victoria (BOIV).

On April 22 Four brothers from the Melbourne Multicultural Centre (MMC) visited Gippsland. The brothers have purchased land in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne which the Wyndham council has approved for a Masjid (address 700 Davis Road Tarneit). The Masjid will be called the “Golden Wattle Masjid”.
Our friends had requested monetary donations from members of the Gippsland Muslim Community (a payment needs to be made to the owners of the land in May, and they are still short of the amount required). The Gippsland Community responded to this call to help our fellow brothers and sisters.
Four brothers visited Gippsland and delivered the Khutbah (see Recording attached) at the Spiritual Centre at Federation University. This visit had the full support and the approval of Federation University Gippsland Campus and was organized by GAMCI and MUIS.
GAMCI and MUIS sincerely thanks the brothers and sisters who attended Khutbah that day. The Gippsland community raised a significant amount of money for this very worthy cause. The brothers who attended were very pleased as ours is a small congregation. GAMCI and MUIS thank our community for their contribution.

The weather was windy, but this did not stop the young (and older) children from enjoying the day inside and outside. Inside it was warm and the food was beautiful. The speeches made were wonderful, and shows how much the UMSLV and Muslim community in Gippsland has done this year. The outside facilities at Parky's were enjoyed by all, and the bouncing castle, laser guns, and the ropes course kept everyone amused.
